Paul picked up the exceedingly rare and selective virus of the megalops atlanticus strain. It takes months to incubate and then attacks usually in May. Named after the famous tarpon sport fish of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts which begins its migration in May of each year, there is no known cure for "Tarpon Fever" but it can be subdued temporarily by exposure to tropical trade winds of the Florida Keys. Luckily I recognized the early symptoms of the disease and immediately scheduled time in a clinic in Islamorada for his treatment. He is shown here responding well to the therapy. It's just in remission for now, and relapses are certain to occur each spring.
