Wow. It's been a month since I've posted here. Medium format lenses are getting cheap. I bought the 55mm here for $99 on ebay. It's focal length is equivalent to 35mm in 35mm film format and 24mm in Nikon's DSLR format which may explain it's low price. Sadly the SB-800 super smart flash system couldn't get the exposure right, this includes a 1/2 stop over-exposure in NC 4.4 and some shifting of the highlights and then even more tweaking with PS for white point to get the background more white. Shot in B&W, though. Also could have some back focus or maybe I slipped forward. The focus is supposed to be on the name, not the spot above it.
Why not stopping down the lens and slowing down t he shutter speed with tripod and a 200 ISO?

This is beautiful! I've always wanted a Pentax 6x7 myself. Maybe one day medium format digital will be affordable - and improved with curved sensors and a better kind of pixel replacing microlenses. Equipment is more than half of the fun! I am VERY envious of you and your D200. I think it is not out of the question that the D200's focus is not perfectly calibrated, as it is a consumer product. Maybe it is not that difficult to adjust professionally. I think for a professional photographer it could be normal to have that done, even IF the calibration is only slightly off.
