Meeting Jeanne the Cow. Jeanne the Cow is a little stand-offish. Nothing like the real Jeanne. Here she's on the far right peering around ??? (help me out John) some calf or other not sure she wants to be in my photo.

Now I'm not a big animal lover so being on a farm for a few days and being licked (on my long-sleeve shirt) by cows who want to know who I am is not an easy thing to do, but I managed to get in the field with them and John will eventually post a photo of me trying to entice Jeanne with food. Duh! We should have used coffee!!

Later this day we went into York to walk around the old city wall and visit the minster. (Photos to come in another gallery not yet set up.) John and Jayne were great hosts and tour guides, even when they left me in the city alone!

Forgot to say ... Jeanne the Calf will hopefully be pregnant before Christmas! My how time flies?? Jeanne - leave it to long and it'll be 'Jeanne the Mom'!! (Oct 2006 if all goes to plan!)

Hey - that's Jeanne!! (on the right) She wasn't too sure about Mark and thought that beard made him look like a vet ... and you know where they stick their thermometers!! Handful of food did the trick in the end but she has been a little wild since she went out to grass!! Not an animal lover?? Badger would beg to differ!!

Nice shot of the 'cupid stunts' Mark!! It was great to meet you and do call back anytime though I should point out to Linda and David that the lightening was maybe something to do with you bearing in mind the storm prior to your arrival in York on Sunday.

All right! Not only has Mark met his first cows, he now has them posing for portraits! Next thing we know, he'll be milking them, too. :-)
