CHEERS!!

I was p-mailing Elizabeth the other day about lighting ratios and said I would try my usual 1.3 stop difference between main and fill and see what I got. Well I don't have enough room to put the main light as far to the side as I wanted, nor to put the fill light directly behind the camera. Worse it was on the opposite side a little. So main was at 8.0 6/10, fill at 5.6 3/10, camera at f/10 (or 8.0 2/3). (Maybe should have been f/11. I darkened it 1/3 in Nikon Capture, personal taste, I think.) I love the little remote control shutter release. Makes this a lot easier. I wanted a little more shadow on my left. Anyone have a bigger space I could use?

Also, I've set the white balance to auto -2. Hmm. I guess I have no idea what color temp that is. It's a little warm, but I like the skin tones. Opinions. (The shirt is navy blue, a bit purple on my screen, but properly blue on my LCD monitor.)

Lighting? What lighting? I just notice that beverage that you are holding =P~ No really the lighting is really nice here, good job!!!

The picture shows the lovely red colour saturation of the D70, this must have some around 6000 degrees in temperature, I allways reduce the red colour to drop down to 4200 - 5200, depends on the colour I want and the the temperature. But such saturated skin colours make a warmer effect as you said and are sometimes nice to see.

I said cheers in my mind just when I saw the thumbnail. Then I read your title .... :)
Good stuff and energizer after a long ride.

It's nice, really. I like the beer too.

Take your shirt off next time! It will increase your hit count!

I can't comment on the color (being color blind), but it looks great on my monitor. I like the contrast between the beer and the rest of the image. Lighting looks excellent. Glad you are experimenting!
