Finally I've got those First Communion photos back. I took too long to send them and then got them back in two days. My usual, read preferred but rarely used, portrait lab went out of business. I think digital is hurting the industry--a shame because they were very good.
So then I sent the negatives to a lab I used to use but stopped because they couldn't ship things to the right address. (I didn't have time to go hunting for a new lab.) Well, the old lab is still incompetent! They shipped to a non-existent street address. After two extra days I got the photos and sorted through them. They failed to make one set of wallets. Oh, and they don't cut the wallets for you. I've always felt that a sheet of wallets is a tacky way to present customers with their photos. Leaving them to hack up the photos with scissors. I cut them with a rolling paper cutter at work. The old lab had die cut rounded corners--classy.
Now I need to try to determine if they billed me for the missing wallets and then send them the shipping label and a complaint about the wallets. Then contact a lab in Tennessee. They look good based on the services they offer.
