Ivan and Lois

I've long thought that Ivan had Russian blood in him. Today at a 20th wedding anniversary/50th birthday celebration for Patrick and Beth, he was discussing Russian history and politics and WWII, and such. Someone asked him if he was Russian. "No, my mother wanted her children to have unique names, so she named me Ivan." Pretty common, in Russia! But not in America.

Lois retired from social work last year and has started a business that would interest Linda--life coach. She doesn't tell people what to do, though. She asks them, and asks them...

Ivan started chatting about my camera and ended up taking a photo of me. (No I'm not posting it. Sorry Ivan.) And then I tried his portrait. He was pleased so we convinced Lois to join him--two interesting, intelligent and caring people, worldly, yet down-to-earth. Talking with them can be like attending a graduate seminar or a theology class. But they don't necessarily have the answers. You've got to work them out for yourself.

Thank you Lois and Ivan for letting me take a quickie portrait and post it online. Technically, I think I should have turned them a little more to their right to cut down on the eyeglass glare. (See how Lois has none and same for Ivan, alone, but here Ivan has some.) My ride was leaving and my batteries dieing--the story of the Coolpix 3100. Maybe I needed to try a 1/3 underexposure to keep from losing the highlghts in Ivan's hair. But I think the exposure latitude is partly to blame here.

They look very nice. I would like some answers, though...I prefer NOT to work things out on my own, just gimme the old Magic 8 Ball and I'm all set....

All signs point to YES!

VERY nice shot of them, Bro!
