Knights.

Some of you may recall my vase from January 6, 2004. This chess set came from the same dealer. The white pieces are marblized fossils. Now I'm thinking maybe I should have put them face to face, instead of one square off.

I like the line of pawns and the board.
I would be tempted to try it with the knights looking at each other.

Very attractive image. The "one square off" works because of the mirror image profiles and size perpective. I would further suggest trying two squares off. In addition to the appealing form and color, you'd create some tension between the two pieces, impending doom for one of them : )

Really nice composition here...I like how they're "one off" from each other.

What I like is that you've bisected the frame with the line on the chessboard and then you've thrown the center off by including the black objects (I'm not a chess player) on the right side. Just brilliant.

What a beautiful chess set!! I like how you have them set up. The way the perspective makes the black knight look smaller is well balanced with the white knight because of the row of pawns behind him (the black one).
