My "coffee" table.

Oops. The title was supposed to be: "A place for everything and everything in its place...except when you don't HAVE a place for everything!!"

This is a small coffee table because I live in a small condominium unit. As you can see it's covered with stuff. Magazines, negatives, bad photos from an Orioles game, backpacking guides and maps, books, a broken CO monitor from the laundry room--I solved that problem for someone, I took it out--and of course the equatorial mount for my 8" diameter telescope, the tube itself has been on the loveseat until tonight when I tried to rearrange the furniture to give me more space. I failed. I have more deadspace now. Soon I will break down and throw out almost everything here. I need table top studio space! There are about 20 pounds of National Geographic magazines on the lower shelf. Would you like them?

I wasn't going to mention the magazine...

Interesting things to look at.

Thanks Rob. Curiousity, peeking into my living room; that must be the draw. Although I think the cover of that Rangefinder magazine intrigues a lot of people. It draws my eye everytime.

Not necessarily one of your best pictures, but it says a lot about you. Maybe a way of being invited over for coffee. or maybe its just one of those garage sale things. You cruise by and there is someone's stuff spread out over the lawn and driveway. Myself, I can't help but to get out and poke around.

Mark, have you considered donating your magazines to a school (high school social studies class) or even a local preschool (remove any nudie photos first!)?? I used to kill myself trying to get donations like that, both when I did preschool and high school. When you are free to cut up magazines, you can make displays, posters, collages, and all sorts of cool stuff.
By the way, I am really enjoying your photos!

Love the table shot! You definitely need a newer bigger table :)

Nice "book" table Mark! I do like the color, and the framing in this.

Ann, I'm getting so, so, so sick of it that it's all going to go into the dumpster soon. Libraries keep National Geographic, why do I need to? There are four different magazines on this table and I've not renewed three of them. (Oh, I'm not throwing out my scope, but it sure needs a better home.) And you shouldn't see my kitchen counter!! Piles of stuff, where are the bills?

I fear we're moving closer to it than to Orwell's vision. Not that his was any more appealing. On the lower left, not visible I guess is the NG Atlas of the World, Sixth Revised Ed. and a big "coffee table" book about coffee tables. No, it's an art book!
Lara S24-Feb-2004 03:42
I see Brave New World. Have that book as well. What did you think?
Lara S24-Feb-2004 03:39
Hmmm Mark. Do you want MY National Geographics? I'm trying to get rid of them aswell. I see some room there on the lower left side of the coffee table. Tee Hee.

I love this kind of image... must be the voyeur in me! My 'spot' is the kitchen island (and my desk). I am a packrat by nature. Good luck parting with your 'stuff' to make room... that's hard.

Nice coffee table, bro. See Tony and I don't have this problem because we don't have a coffeetable...It's all on the KITCHEN table, so we eat on the couch!!
