There is NOW a Tree on the Entire Deck... 10-13-26

Really bad, very damaging, Midwestern Thunderstorm

From the gallery https://pbase.com/britestar/the_storm_of_2026

90pmh winds
And now we have a 120-foot tree across the entire back of the house,
crushing the deck and outdoor furniture and all my potted plants, the lights, the railing, the fencing, and blocking the doors.

Didn't Helen say situations like this look like a "War Zone"??? The storm is too intense at the moment to go out to access how much more damage may be involved. I'm sure it's more than what this photo shows. We sat down to dinner to hear a loud boom and feel the whole house shake. Above is what we then found. A giant 40-year-old Maple tree from our West side yard is now laying across the entire back of our house and against the house. Unfortunately, things like this don't just happen to "other people". One should never lose sight of that...

So sorry to hear this. At least no one was injured.

Oh no! I sure hope the damage is minimal and limited to the deck, hope it didn't scare the pups too much.

Sorry to hear of the damage. But thankfully it didn't hit your house, and even more, that no people or dogs were hurt. Best of luck with the repairs and cleanup.

Yikes, so sorry to see what happened to your deck, and yes, it fits my description perfectly. I hope the damage isn’t as bad as you were expecting.
