Our dogs have no idea of just how spoilt and lucky they are.
This is a second "themed" dog bed they got for Christmas.
I saw it on-line back when Tara was going through a phase of getting on the roof of her mini mover sleeping crate https://pbase.com/britestar/image/175085107 Knowing that she wouldn't stay "little" forever, I was concerned about her using the roof of the crate to boost herself over the top of the wire X-pen. My biggest concern was her then falling and hurting herself. So, this cabin "cave" pet bed seemed to be a possible solution to stop her from climbing over the wire. Unlike the solid "mini mover" crate, the roof of the cabin bed will collapse under any weight. Luckily, once Tara started to come into the kitchen, she has stopped getting up on the roof of the mini mover. And she has stopped trying to climb the wire X-pen where she spends her time when we can't be with her. So, I was able to save the cabin doggy bed until Christmas.
Winter weather has temporarily stopped our outdoors potty training. Therefore (even though she does reliably use a piddle pad) she cannot be trusted to have free run of the house when we're not watching her. She's just a baby. She poops and pees frequently. I want her to learn to only go outdoors when house broken. So, her piddle pads are in the X-pen in our formal living room (where the adult dogs almost never visit). They are not in other areas of our home. The grown-up girls are outdoors housebroken
Back to the little "cabin" dog bed above. All the Chihuahuas love it. A wise choice for a doggy Christmas gift. For now, it is a part of our kitchen decor, and everyone uses it. However, only Tara is the only one who has ever tried to get up on top of the roof. Tara is on her own wave length.
