Since 2004, each & every August 26th is International Dog Day. This is a time to celebrate dogs everywhere. Although I may be a little slow to the party, I just discovered the "holiday" this year. And I love it!!!
To celebrate National Dog Day 2014, here are some canine fun facts:
"1) Most dogs do not age the equivalent of seven years for every calendar year.
According to Dogster and the Dog Owner’s Manual, dogs of all sizes age comparatively rapidly in the first two years of life. In two years, they are the equivalent of 24 years old. Then small and medium breeds age at a 5 to 1 ratio; large breeds, 6 to 1; and giant breeds, 7 to 1.'A Great Dane could be considered ‘senior’ at age 5, while a smaller toy poodle would still be spry at twice that age,' the site says.

Puffkin, above, is 13 years old and still acts like a puppy. I was there the moment that he was born, and he’s been here for me ever since. We celebrate our togetherness every single day of the year, not only on National Dog Day.
