• After dropping out of the 2024 race, Joe Biden endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.
• Harris made history as the first vice president who is a woman, Black, or of Indian descent.
• She previously served as a US senator and attorney general of California.
Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris as his running mate in 2020. Now, she could replace him on the ticket in 2024. After dropping out of the presidential race, Biden endorsed Harris as the 2024 Democratic nominee, saying in a statement that choosing her to be vice president was "the best decision I've made."

Harris's swift consolidation of support demonstrates the party's desire for unity in the face of an unexpected leadership transition. The Vice President, who received an immediate endorsement from Biden following his withdrawal, has moved quickly to shore up support from key Democratic constituencies, including donors, elected officials, and party leaders. Kamala Harris has now secured enough delegates to win the Democratic nomination for president.

• It took just over 24 hours for the party to rally behind Harris after Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
• Since Biden's announcement and endorsement of Harris, the vice president has broken fundraising records of $100 millon dollar in just over 24 hours
• Harris is vetted on a national stage, has name recognition and “flips the narrative” on age because she would be the younger candidate. Republicans have long attacked Biden over his age, despite him being only three years older than Trump.

Trump responded to the past 24 hours by going on the attack and giving VP Harris a nasty nickname and calling her “dumb as a rock”. He also threatened that she can expect “brutal times” ahead. Attacks have already come from the Republican party concerning Harris being a woman of color with immigrant parents. To date, the USA has never had a female President.
