Because of our very strange Spring weather, our dogwood tree did not bloom normally this Spring. Usually, it is loaded with flowers on the entire tree.
But at least, it did bloom better than last year 2023 (same problem of odd seasonal weather) when - for the first time ever - it didn't bloom at all. This year, there were some sections of heavy bloom (like above) and other sections with nothing. Hope the bare sections are going to be okay. No flowers, no leaves, just bare branches. However, the wood is flexible, so those branches are still alive.
This tree is as old as our Bradford Pear & has always been one of my favorites.
In preparation for us to completely relandscape our front yard either this Fall or next Spring, my husband has removed all of our other old plants in the front in order to start all over. Only this dogwood now remains near the driveway. She is supposed to be a foundation for our new landscaping.
