I should have included the product (foreground) in the photo: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/counter-assault-bear-deterrent-spray-with-belt-holster-102-ounces?a=2125603&szc=000&clrc=000&utm_source=bing&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=pla&utm_medium=pla&adlclid=651d98a0e44e1f2df958fdb44200e3af&utm_campaign=31664717&utm_channel=shoppingads&msclkid=651d98a0e44e1f2df958fdb44200e3af
But the stuff behind him fascinated me more at the time.
Although this may seem like the everyday to many, I normally don't frequent bait & tackle shops. I don't fish. But this was where this city girl was sent by locals to get bear spray.
The photo was from in the days back when I often went hiking solo in bear country in Montana. Ah, the young and foolish. Because there was unusually high grizzly bear activity on the back country trails that trip, I finally decided it might be wise to carry bear spray. Knock on wood, I only encountered one black bear the trails, and we passed without incident.
