“May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.”
Irish Blessing
*****************
Although the holiday isn't for another two days, we've gotten into the swing of things. Today, my husband got me some Guinness (my favorite beer) and made sure that - as I asked - it was bottled in Ireland with Irish water. Guinness bottled anywhere else in the world doesn't taste the same. This afternoon, the florist also delivered a St Patrick's Day floral arrangement (above). Plus, the grocery store delivered our corn beef and cabbage to be cooked on Friday. Tomorrow (Thursday), my husband will pick up St Patrick's Day's cupcakes from the local, little bakery where we get special occasion cakes. They had green velvet cakes already made up, but I wanted cupcakes. So that is a special order.
Weather today is sunny & beautiful with the temperature around 65 degrees. Today is a lovely Spring day. That is supposed to change tomorrow; with rain moving in & the tempts becoming very cold (in the low 20's) by nighttime. Parade weather on St Patrick's Day (Friday) will be blustery and very cold. Therefore, we will be staying home with the flowers and cupcakes and Guinness and corn beef and our dressed-up Chihuahuas. We will be privately enjoying "being Irish for a day" and just watch the parade on TV.
