It finally got up to 9°F (-13°C)!!!
The extreme cold wave (that much of the country has been under for the past week) has at last started to lessen. Yesterday it was a balmy 2°F (-16.6°C) That was the last day of the Extreme Weather Watches (this time around anyhow) here. Warnings were lifted for our area as soon as the dangerously below-zero weather system (MINUS -40° both Fahrenheit & Centigrade) broke after Christmas.
Oddly, the high tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's. Crazy! Really crazy. That's a really big & sudden jump!!! After that, tempts should then settle in the 30's and 40's during the daytime hours for the foreseeable, near future (ie, next 10 days.) Lows in the 20's.
Now, I have to decide if it's safe to return the tropical plants to our Solar Room. One weather forecaster has said that the December arctic blast was just the first of three extreme cold weather events that will hit this Winter Season. Actually, the dangerous, sub zero, deep freeze (that we're finally getting over) hit before the official start of Winter. So, does that mean we can expect 3 more similar, long term, subzero, very bitter weather events before Spring??? I sure hope not!!! If only we had a crystal ball...

Above photo was taken with my new Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra.
It really does do a good job (for a Cell Cam) in low light!
The only light source was the red Christmas lights on our deck.
You can actually see the sky on a moonless night.
