Stressed 2-17-24

At Home
*******
After just 2 days inside the main part of our house, the plants from the Solar Room were starting to stress https://pbase.com/britestar/image/171407250

Six days later, you can see - in the photo above - just how much more stressed that they’ve become…

It’s a really sad sight. However, unlike the plants that have frozen to death out in the Solar Room during the past couple of days, at least they are still alive. For now anyhow. Today is Wednesday. On Saturday, the weather is supposed to warm up to more normal Winter temperatures. That’s when the plants will start to be returned to the Solar Room where they belong. Undoubtedly, another move will unfortunately stress them even more. After that, only time will then tell how this story eventually ends. Sadly, I expect, a lot of these plants will also be lost.
2021 has not been the best of years.

Fauci on US COVID-19 Vaccination Timeline
******************************************
“Timeline will probably be prolonged, maybe into mid- to late May and early June, that's fine," Fauci said. He downplayed the shifted expectations and noted that there will be several months between when vaccinations are generally available and when each person will individually be able to access one.

"You can say, let's say in May, vaccines are going to be widely available to almost anybody May, June, but it may take to June, July and August to finally get everyone vaccinated," he said. "So when you hear about how long it's going to take to get the overwhelming population vaccinated, I don't think anybody disagrees that that's going to be well to the end of the summer and we get in the early fall.” CNN

Biden on US COVID-19 Timeline Future
************************************
The prediction of nearly another year in pandemic-dampened conditions was admittedly not optimistic. But Biden still said it was as good as he could offer with any level of confidence.

"As my mother would say, with the grace of God and the goodwill of the neighbors, that by next Christmas I think we'll be in a very different circumstance, God willing, than we are today," Biden said. "A year from now, I think that there'll be significantly fewer people having to be socially distanced, having to wear a mask." He added: "I don't want to over promise anything here."

Thought Provoking
*****************
“Two variants have merged into heavily mutated coronavirus. The UK and California variants of coronavirus appear to have combined into a heavily mutated hybrid, sparking concern that we may be entering a new phase of the covid-19 pandemic. If confirmed, the recombinant would be the first to be detected in this pandemic. Recombination could lead to the emergence of new and even more dangerous variants, although it isn’t yet clear how much of a threat this first recombination event might pose.
