Our 9th Full Moon in “Stay-at-Home” Isolation.
It’s hard to believe…
**************
Again, I’m not going to report the US COVID news for the day. Nothing has improved. With even worse times predicted to lay ahead, now is a chance (for those who have stuck to a “safer-at-home” program) to temporarily free our minds. It is painful to think about what others less fortunate may now be experiencing. So I chose to think of the moon for this night.
There is something peaceful and reassuring about a full moon.
**************
The Chinese name for the November Full Moon is the “White Moon.”
In North America, it’s known as the “Beaver Moon”
In the Southern Hemisphere, this moon is called the “Milk Moon”
All are the same moon.
The color is only white when viewed from afar under certain lighting conditions. The moon itself is not actually white.
For us here, it was very high in the sky by around 8PM Monday when I photographed it.
The apex was at Monday, Nov. 30 at 3:30 a.m. CDT (9:30 UTC),
