There were seasonal temperatures here today; plus rain. So I spent the day indoors getting some of our Christmas decorations ready to go up.

It looks like the outdoors season may finally be over for 2020. After getting some great photos of Mabel yesterday, I did go outside several times today to check for the groundhogs. I didn’t see Mabel or any of the pups. So maybe today they have finally really gone into hibernation.

Because of the pandemic (with everyday folks needing an emotional escape), most of our neighbors have had their Christmas trees and outside Christmas decorations up since late September/ early October. Based on that, I’m getting a “later” start than most. Instead, I’ve been spending as much time outside as possible while I could; rather than concentrating on indoors things.

However, I’ll now be doing more indoors things as we continue on with the “Safer at Home” epic. Staying as close to home in a small bubble is the safest place at the current time.

Being “out there” for about anything in our community isn’t safe these days. Locally, there are very high & quickly increasing infection, hospitalization, and death rates. Plus a high percentage of people in our area are totally against wearing masks. Post Thanksgiving (for reasons previously mentioned) will probably be even less safe for doing just the errands we all must occasionally run – even with Stay-at-Home isolation. These are trying and dangerous times. It’s going to be a long Winter. A decrease in endorphins from not being out in the sun will make things seem more difficult; even if you're as safe as one can be and not suffering financially as so many are.

I may be late in starting to decorate for Christmas this year, but I plan to leave the holiday lighting up during the dark days of Winter. We’ll need a little a little extra light in our lives until we can enjoy being outside again. It will be interesting to see what the neighbors, who had their Christmas decoration up in September, will do.

Some pretty grim news in our country. I like your positivity and your colorful photo. Stay safe and keep wearing your mask even if others are not!
