“Halictidae is the second-largest family of Anthophila bees. Halictid species occur all over the world and are usually dark-colored and often metallic in appearance. Several species are all or partly green. They are commonly referred to as "sweat bees" (especially the smaller species), as they are often attracted to perspiration. They are only likely to sting if disturbed; the sting is minor.” Wiki

Crazy Town remarks from the obese, 72 year old President with a heart condition having COVID-19: “I felt pretty lousy,” Mr. Trump said. But, he added, “I’m back because I’m a perfect physical specimen and I’m extremely young.” He once again played down the severity of the disease. “Now what happens is you get better,” he said. “That’s what happens, you get better.”

As the days of October tick by, Nature is preparing to close down for cooler weather. However, our weather is currently experiencing above normal temperatures. Although not as many as before our first frost a week ago, some insects (like the sweat bee above) are still gathering nectar. Most of my flowering houseplants are back indoors. That leaves the marigolds as the main attraction on our deck. Marigolds will continue to flower until the first killing, hard freeze. These cheerful flowers span the bridge between summer like & autumn like weather.
Temperatures are supposed to cool down to normal a week from now. A hard freeze will eventually stop me and the insects and probably the groundhogs, too, from desperately doing our best to hang on to summer… However, a hard freeze isn’t yet in the 10 day forecast. We’re all still enjoying each day as it comes. Springtime is then a long way off.
