Broken

Our Fruit Producing Crab Apple Tree

So sad. Just when the tree was finally starting to recover from 2 years ago, massive storm damage (that caused us to lose 3/4 of it), another storm hit hard last night. The high winds last night took off a remaining major branch. This tree has attracted deer to our yard for the past 20 years, but now, there is little left of it. As I said, so sad. It's the only tree that we have like it. I still remember carefully picking it out at the tree nursery & the day my husband planted it. This tree used to be very pretty and the subject of many of my photos.

Being still stuck in Stay-at-Home isolation, it's sad to lose a reliable photo subject. I also really liked this tree & the varied wildlife it attracted. But life happens, and nothing lasts forever.

What a shame - maybe there's time yet for it to put out new shoots before the winter.
