Welcome to Russia

To my pleasant surprise, it took me less than 20 minutes to clear the checkpoint. All was uneventful. However others, that I spoke to, said it took them over 3 hours!!! Long lines and slow, meticulous processing is not uncommon for arrivals.

Something of an intimidating scene! We had the same thing greet us when we were leaving China for Hong Kong years ago. I had to start crying to get through immigration.
