Flood Waters Receding 2019

A City Park

Although flooding (resulting from the mid March "Bomb Cyclone" in the Upper Midwest)
was not as severe in the Kansas City area as in other parts of Missouri and Nebraska,
the Missouri River did significantly over flow her banks in our area.
Large farm fields - plus many communities - were covered by flood water several feet deep.

Fortunately, as seen here, the water is finally going down here locally.
However, it will be a while (if at all this Spring)
that the water will be totally gone & that farm fields will be dry enough for crop planting.
It will also take a lot of effort and money to also get the developed communities back to how they were before the flood.

UPDATE:
April - two days after this photo was shot - things got worse with the flood waters getting even higher when they had peaked in March.
May: the rains and river flooding continue.

Great capture and encouraging news, but still, such a terrible state of affairs.
