The leg of this unfortunate snow goose was snapped totally in half. The halves then dangled from still attached skin.
The poor goose had to flap his wings just to walk a single step. It was sad as I watched him try cope. At first, he did his best to eat but eventually gave up.

The break must have happened during his landing with the group that soon took off again. The goose did seem bewildered and unable to understand what was happening. Eventually, he stopped trying to both walk & eat. He also didn't try to sleep. He just stood there while other geese came and went around him. They continued on with their normals lives. This one probably became Eagle food.

Nature can be harsh.
