Gallery 3: Striations in shades of orange and blue

The impact of indirect lighting can be very powerful on a colorful landscape. Such was the case early this morning. Just after sunrise, and the intense orange rocks to the west were bathed in the glow of the morning light, and the sky overhead was deep blue. The effect of this lighting on this area of striations was striking; the westward facing rocks were orange from the sunlit rocks to the west, the white colored striations which faced the sky took on the blue overhead...amazing.

What an incredible collection - the colors are both subtle and grippig, all at once. THe photos have tremendous depth and energy - I feel like I'm flying inches off the ground, just over the strata. Nicely done! What an incredible place.
