I have volumes of images from this location at sunset, all with ripples in the water from the afternoon breezes which regularly blow through this area. It is, needless to say, difficult to catch still water for sunset reflections here. On this cool, winter afternoon the conditions were perfect, and I spent 20 minutes of this most pleasurable evening composing around these rain pools.
I've often stated that photography is one of the most difficult, and exhausting activities I do...the mind is constantly at work, the eye searching, appreciating, calculating. I find it restful, but exhausting work when I'm trying to capture a moment such as this. I'll admit, sometimes I just give up, put down my camera, and stare at the scene before me, knowing that no emusion is fine enough to capture the feast that is before my eyes.
