This is another of my personal favorites from this gallery. The white aspen trunks along the edge of the grove are considerably lighter than those deeper in the grove, thus making for a natural focus point for a composition. It is the _quality_ of light which I find so interesting in this study; so soft, so subtle. Here, the lighting makes the trees hauntingly white against the darker background - bringing out a beautiful contrast. This image was composed in such a way to use both the foreground and background trees to draw the eye back into the depths of the image, where interesting detail lurks in the shadows. 1/90 sec, f/8.0 ISO 200.
