On an early Spring morning I was driving from Flagstaff to Sedona, through the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. It was still very early in the Spring (actually – late Winter), and only a few of the trees had begun to show any signs of ‘life’. I noticed a group of trees here had begun to blossom with very bright, white flowers. Backlit against the mid-morning sun, they were a very stark contrast to the otherwise relatively dark forest understory, and made for a very interesting study of light. Soon the valley would be full of color – but at this moment it was almost completely black and white. This image was slightly post-processed in Photoshop, with a duplicate layer blurred (22 pix), and combined with the original to give a slight ‘dreamy’ look to the image.
