Rocamadour and Figeac, Summer 2004

We visited Rocamadour on August 31 and Figeac on September 3. Rocamadour was (and still is) a major pilgrimage site on the route to Santiago de Compostela. Figeac is a beautiful, sleepy town best known now as the birthplace of the Egyptologist Champollion, the scholar who deciphered hieroglyphics.
