Regents Park and Regent Street were laid out in the early 19c, during the time of the Prince Regent later George the Fourth ,by John Nash. Nash's wife was rumoured to be the mistress of the Prince,but Mr Nash did get lots of commissions from the Prince.As they said " No man has a greater sense of patriotism than to lay down his wife for his sovereign!"
