Silverheels English Barleywine - Front Range Brewing Company - Lafayette, Colorado

12.25% ABV - This annual holiday English style barleywine pours with little to no head. Not too uncommon for a beer at this strength. This bourbon barrel-aged beer is nearly a year old but could probably cellar for another few years. There is an initial aroma of dark pit fruits and some bourbon. Burnt Caramel and toffee start the flavor off with an addition of fig and a fairly strong bourbon bite. Hops are quite subdued but are present.
