Agitated Great Blue Heron

Venice Rookery, Fl

This pair were protecting their nest from the anhinga intruder. Taken in Florida at the Venice Rookery. Gayle and I had loads of fun and took hundreds of shots. Venice Rookery is set up so that you don't need a huge lens to get great shots. There are lots of different birds in a relatively small area.

Nikon D70 ,Nikkor 300mm f/4 ED-IF AF
1/1000s f/11.0 at 500.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

You guys are really making me want to go to the Venice Rookery with your wonderful shots from there. Pity the poor anhinga intruder!
