Tree Remover At Work

Montz, Louisiana

Nephew Luke is working with a tree removal service that I hired to help me remove all the blown over trees from our woods. They won't look the same as half of the trees over 50 feet tall are down. With out there help it would have taken me all of next year to finish this project, and that would have been the front half. Now I can take a break after this.

Canon PowerShot G5
1/60s f/4.0 at 15.8mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

glad you can take a rest, Bre. I hope you and Gayle are starting to get back to something in the area of normal again.

It looks like it was weakend by age or disease perhaps Breland before the storm ?? It has stood for a long time by it's girth size.

What a tragedy to lose trees of this size. I suppose it makes room for new growth and we'll all follow down the same path someday. Still, hard to take.

I can just imagine the size of that tree from the trunk. It must have been huge. I am so glad to hear people are helping one another. And sad that you lost so much.

Sorry Breland - came to this photo through Gayle's link! Incredible shot of the damage there!

Gayle, that is just unbelievable!!! It's hard to comprehend the extent of the damage!

Oh my! Hate to have to dig the stump/roots from this one. Unbelieveable.

Wow - how many trees that size did you lose? That one looks like it might have been ready to be cut down, but I still can't imagine the wind that would be necessary to knock down something that large -- nor how much work it must be to clear it all. Have you considered dynamite -- or daisy cutters? Nice shot.

Huge tree! Glad you got someone to do some of the work.

Oh my goodness, Breland. That tree was huge. It really brings home the hurricanes strength. I hope you can take a break. Glad you have some help.

clearing all these damaged trees will give some fresh trees space to grow.... but yes, this is a help for the back breaking work

I am amazed at the damage. This tells the story well Breland.
