Davis Pond From Across the Mississippi River

St Rose Louisiana

I took this picture from the top of a 200 ft. flare tower we are working on. This is the Davis Pound river water diversion to help stop salt water intrusion in the Barataria Marsh. I am about 3 miles away but you can see the structure gates at the river, a railroad track, and Hwy 90. This is the first pictures I have been able to take since Mothers Day. I had to go to the top of the tower to look at a repair job with an engineer and he had a Sony Mavica.

Great shot Breland. Too bad they don't actually use the diversion project.

I wondered where you went. Love the perspective and it's great they're trying to correct an environmental problem.

Wonderful to see a post from you again! I'm with the others though, feelin' a bit dizzy.

OMG Breland, so high up. I think I wanna be sick. Is there at least an elevator to the top?? I feel dizzy (er)

Well, my darling, this is truly proof that opposites attract. I can't go 20 feet up, which you very well know. One of the reasons I love you, you're so big and brave :-)

Nice composition, Bre. I sure would turn that dater off, though. You are going to get a shot you want to frame and that is going to be in your way. Hate to ruin a good work of art like that.

Hey you're pretty high up there Breland. You got a great view of the marsh land, and I never knew exactly where the Davis Pound was. Know I know exactly where it is.

Be careful up there! Great shot, I'll have to go to the other end and wave to you!

Great shot but don't like being up that high. Is the diversion in full swing?
