The one you saw on youtube is a CDV-700, NOT a CDV-715. The CDV-700 with it's GM probe is 1000 times more sensitive than CDV-715 with it's internal ionization chamber. CDV-715 can only be used for very high and dangerous level of gamma radiations. You won't see it's needle move in Vancouver, unless you live inside a nuclear reactor. If it happens that at a place you see your CDV-715 needle moving, go away immediately from that place!

Hello, I ordered on of these CDV-715 survey meters to measure radiation in Vancouver, BC.
I ordered from ebay. When it arrived we could not get it to work. We saw someone on Youtube.com using one and he had a cord running from it with a cylinder type metal peace that measured the radiation. We did not get that piece with the package. Can you tell me where to get that piece or why our geiger counter is not working ?
