I found this photo while looking for example shots taken with the Nikon 500mm, f/4 P. I bought one a couple of weeks ago, for a great price that I couldn't pass up. I admit that I had a bit of buyer's remorse. After all, why would anyone in their right mind buy a non-stabilized, manual focus monster of a lens in 2016?? And then I took a few shots with it, hand-held (!?) of a Blue Angels show, expecting to get maybe one or two shots in focus. I was shocked to see that about 95% of the shots were razor-sharp.
While I knew I liked the lens already, I wanted to see what other shooters had done with the 500mm and found your gallery. Holy cripes, what great shots! Having owned some Sigma X3F sensored cameras along with my Nikons, I knew what the mythical "3D look" was all about, but I'd never seen it from a Nikon until I saw your photos of the tiger. Your photos are incredible! I can almost feel and hear that tiger breathing, just looking at your shots. Absolutely perfect work! (I voted)
