The striking yellow structure is the historic Quellenturm (Spring Tower), one of the landmarks of the spa town of Bad Ems in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Erected in 1907–1908, the tower originally served to capture thermal water from four springs and supply the neighboring bathhouse.
The tower is situated directly on the left bank of the Lahn River.
