The consistently large number of burning candles before the altar of the Madonna of the Jewels symbolizes the enduring veneration of this miraculous image,
to which the answered prayers offered here are attributed. The numerous pieces of jewelry and votive offerings from the 19th and 20th centuries express the gratitude of people
who have received help in difficult life situations. The veneration of the Marian figure likely dates back to the late 17th century, the time of its creation;
the custom of dedicating precious votive offerings of thanksgiving and supplication to it is probably of the same age.
