Lake Walchensee is one of the deepest and largest Alpine lakes in Germany and is located about 75 km south of Munich.
It is known for its clear, turquoise-blue water, which derives its color from its high calcium carbonate content.
The lake offers numerous opportunities for swimming, windsurfing, sailing, and diving, with wrecks even found underwater.
The surrounding mountains, such as the Herzogstand, also offer hiking opportunities
and impressive views of the lake and the Alps.
