The museum, declared a National Historical Monument, is the expression of Creole culture within a neighborhood, Mataderos, with a long rural and country tradition, since the cattle slaughterhouse was installed there. The house, inaugurated on July 9, 1964, has six rooms displaying typical gaucho clothing, military uniforms and weapons, stuffed animals typical of the region, and more than three thousand objects that make up the museum's heritage.
