Kavala - Greece 2012

Images of the Greek port city of Kavala on the Aegean Sea. The city is known for its picturesque old town, "Panagia," which stretches across a peninsula.
Atop the hill sits an impressive 15th-century fortress offering sweeping panoramic views of the city and the sea.
A striking landmark is the ancient Roman-Turkish aqueduct (Kamares) that runs through the city. Kavala is an important fishing and trading center with a bustling port.
