The Freiburg Minster (or Minster of Our Lady) is the Roman Catholic parish church of Freiburg im Breisgau, begun in Romanesque style and mostly completed in Gothic and late Gothic style. It was built from about 1200 to 1513. Since Freiburg became a bishopric in 1827 (Archbishopric of Freiburg), the church is today formally a cathedral, but is traditionally referred to as the "Münster" and not as the "cathedral". The Münster community belongs to the pastoral care unit Freiburg middle in the deanery of Freiburg.
