Gavdos, Greece, Extoristoi Astro Resort
This image is dedicated to my dear son and soulmate Ben, who’s always helped me see and choose the light in the dark
103 million pixels (12462 x 8337) covers the rich area between the Cygni nebula
on the bottom left, all the way to the Tulip on the top right.
The image goes from varying areas of dusty darkness to bright Ha (and some OIII) regions,
and with a resolution of 2.92 arcsec/pixel allows a deep solid zoom into every little bit
of the area, set in a vast gamut of star colors.
The image was shot from “Bortle 1” skies from a desolate Greek island -
one of the images I enjoyed most to create, since starting off with astrophotography back in 2008.
