This is the first Ha image shot from our newly inaugurated "Southern Sky Gems" Observatory - a fully remote controlled observatory Tal Faibish and I have located at Tivoli Farm, Kalahari Desert, Namibia.
The observatory is fit with Officina Stellare's RiDK 300 Riccardi Dall Kirkham 2.4 meter focal length telescope - a Beauty and a Beast in one sophisticated scope.
M16 was already very low on the horizon when we got to it, and managed to shoot 3 ten min. frames.
We were quite astounded by the result.
This isn't a formal "first light" as we rather give this honor to the result of a full imaging run
on this object or other.
