Sadao

Sadao

Sadao a bordering small town and district between Thailand and Malaysia in the Songkhla Province of Southern Thailand. The town of Sadao was once an immigration checkpoint during year 80's but then had shifted to Thailand most southest red light district Dan Nok as of today.

The original name of Sadao were known as Changlun, means 'the falling of an elephant' in Thai. The district were once a part of Changlun, and under the overlordship of Malay Sultanate of Kedah. The town of Changlun is still exist in Malaysia today where most of the Malaysian as well as tourists exchange their Thai Baht and for those who wish to drive their car into Thailand can also purchase a temporary 8 days road tax here.

There is not much thing to do except bargaining shopping around the city of Dan Nok and its night life.
Travelling by road is certainly the preference for most of Thai and Malaysian. From Penang Island heading north via Malaysian North-South Highway is just approximately 2 hours to reach the Thailand-Malaysia border and vice versa.
