Lombok

Lombok, an island with total area of about 4,725 kmē located in between Bali & Sumbawa. The administrative capital and largest city on the island is Mataram. The island's inhabitants are 85% Sasak (a people, closely related to the Balinese, but mostly practising Islam), only 10-15% are Balinese.

Lombok are less well-known and less visited by foreigners as compared to Bali. The most-developed center of tourism is Senggigi, spread in a 10-kilometer strip along the coastal road north of Mataram, while backpackers congregate in the Gili Islands off the west coast. Senggigi is the most developed with full range of hotels and tourist services.

The best time to visit Lombok will be from mid of May to late September. Well, I would say visiting either Bali or Lombok during August, 95% you will be welcoming with the cool wind and blue sky.
