Ban Phé is on the Gulf coastline of Eastern Thailand, in Rayong Province. It is about 25 km from the town of Rayong, between Sattahip and Chanthaburi. It is the gateway to Ko Samet. Ferries between Ban Phé and Ko Samet usually take 20-45 minutes, depending on the speed of the boat and which beach or pier they use.
Ban Phé a pier town draws a constant stream of visitors as well as locals though that's only because it is a gateway for nearby screw-shape island, Ko Samet. Ban Phé alone doesn't charm many visitors as cooled by a sea breeze that smells slightly of drying fish and few people spend more than a mandatory 30 minutes or so waiting for a bus or ferry connection.
