The lump in the water near the boats is a dead cow... The Ganges at Varanasi is a river of extremes. To see the faithful bathing, washing and even cleaning their teeth in the same river that is full of sewage, rubbish and the odd corpse is mind boggling. To then see a dolphin rise next to your boat confuses you even more!
