The plan for this walk was to start at Dead Horse Gap, near Thredbo village, then walk to the Chimneys, a nice 16km day trip. Sleeping in and a subsequent late start saw us wander around the upper reaches of the Thredbo River, known as the Big Boggy. Lots of evidence of horses in the area, with piles of dung and hoofprints everywhere. Although we didn't make it to the Chimneys, there's always next time.
