Hello! I'm a photographer in my alter ego, when I'm not working as a lab manager in Plant Nutrition (Plant Science Dept) at Penn State University. I would appreciate hearing from you, so please feel free to leave your comments, and Vote for any images or galleries that you like!

I now mostly work with an Olympus EM-D EM-1 MarkII micro four thirds camera, now with the Olympus 300mm f4 ISO Pro lens and the 40 -150 mm f2.8 PRO lens with 1.4x tele converter for birds and wildlife. I also have the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 PRO lens in my kit and the Olympus 25mm f1.8 lens. The Olympus OM-D EM-1 goes just about everywhere with me now, and will serves well as a travel camera and compact system camera for bird photography with the 40-150mm f2.8 or the 300mm f4. My tripod is a lightweight carbon fiber Gitzo Mountaineer Series I, with a RRS BH-30 bullhead.

I also use a Nikon D7000 digital camera body for my bird and macro photography. A lot of my work on this site has also been produced using the earlier Nikon D200 DSLR.

I use the following Nikon lenses: AF 300mm ED F4, Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 ED, AF, and a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 AF EX D. I also work with two macro lens: Nikkor AF-D 105mm f2.8 . I use the older, Nikon SB-28 speedlights (usually on manual, good solid flash units). In addition, I have four older Nikon non-Ai lenses that I acquired with a Nikon FTn film camera, and an AI Nikkor-Q 200mm f4 lens which I use on the mirror-less Olympus m4/3's body with an adapter for Nikon lenses. The added bonus I discovered, was that old non-AI lenses would fit the micro 4/3's adapter for Nikon lenses! New life for those old lenses. I will keep using the Nikon lenses for now with the OM-D EM -1: I like the color and contrast from the earlier non-Ai lenses.

Photography keeps me grounded in life, and is a great outlet to let off steam. Please take some time to browse and enjoy my work, and then go make new photos with your own gear!
